A Light in the Darkness

The world can look pretty dark and scary at times. I remember, as a child sitting in bed in my darkened room, feeling afraid because I couldn't see around me. But the wonderful thing about light is that it disperses the shadows. It brings everything out into daylight. We can see what is in the corner, or realize that the scary shape is really just a pile of clothes and a stuffed toy.

We have just come through a pandemic. I finally got covid a month ago. and got pretty sick. But there was medicine and since I had been vaccinated, I came through just fine. I spent a lot of time lying in bed sleeping. And when I did wake up and felt too weak to do anything I prayed. I asked for healing and not just for me but for my husband who was sick as well. And then I spent time praying for everyone I knew. For their health and things that concerned them. I knew I was going to be ok. I had faith in God, in Jesus, that He would be there for me. He was my light in the darkness. And the darkness did not overcome it.

Jesus is the light. Yes, there are things in the world that are frightening. But He is the light that disperses the shadows. When things get tough find your faith. Again and again, I have to remind myself to look at Him instead of the storm.

Jesus is the Light that the darkness cannot overcome.
